- Well-versed in the history, development, and conceptual significance of contemporary installation; able to utilize performance elements, site-specific designs, and material specificity; skilled in negotiating with public officials, community members, and outside participants during installation of new site-specific work; eager to create work within community beyond traditional spaces.
- Video
- Experienced in filming and editing video for final presentations and documentation; able to work within the file size constraints of online channels (or iPods), or with higher-resolution, large projection, utilizing DV camcorders, HDV camcorders, audio recorders, DSLR cameras, SLR cameras, projectors, lighting kits, light meters, DVD players, speakers.
- Metal Working
- Extensive experience welding (MIG, ARC, TIG, Oxy-Acetylene), plasma cutting, bending, and forging with hand tools and pneumatic hammers; skilled with grinder, chop saw, drill press, shear brake, bandsaw, and a variety of other electric, pneumatic, and hand tools.
- Metal Casting
- Extensive experience constructing sand resin, investment, and ceramic shell molds for use in bronze, aluminum, and iron casting (from both gas-fired “speedy” melt furnaces and traditional coke iron cupolas); complex mold making experience with plaster, plastic, silicon, and rubber.
- Fabric
- Experience with machine-based and handmade fabric construction from patterns and custom designs; broad understanding of dyes, pattern making, and types of fabric.
- Woodworking
- Skilled in wood joinery, bending, and construction with electric, pneumatic, and hand tools; adept at staining and finishing wood surfaces; experienced with chop saw, jig saw, band saw, table saw, electric sanders, joinery tools, and carving tools.
- Ceramics
- Extensive experience firing electric and traditional cone kilns (high fire and low fire), throwing on the wheel, hand construction, and slip construction (with multiple clay bodies, specifically porcelain); experience repairing and updating kiln hardware.
- Drawing
- Experience utilizing traditional drawing techniques from pencil, pen, charcoal, and ink derived from life models, physical objects, and memory.
- Technical Skills
- Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash), Apple Final Cut Pro, After Effects, iMovie, Quicktime Pro, AutoCAD, Rhino 3D, LightWave 3D, Blender, Cinema 4, SketchUp Pro, Pro Tools, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
